The 20th China Renewable Energy Conference was held at the Shaoxing International Convention and Exhibition Center from Oct. 23 to 25. BYD Energy Storage appeared at the event with advanced technologies and industrial achievements, joining academicians, experts and leading companies in the renewable energy sector to explore new paths for innovation in the new energy industry.
During the exhibition, Shaoxing Party Secretary Shi Huifang; Tan Tianwei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chairman of the China Renewable Energy Society; Zheng Jinyang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Yang Deren, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Xu Chunbao, academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering; and Ma Zifeng, chair professor and chief scientist at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, visited the BYD booth. They reviewed the company’s full-chain technology route and project implementation.
At the booth, BYD Energy Storage displayed its 2710Ah ultra-large-capacity blade battery. The cell is used in the BYD Haohan energy storage system, whose minimum unit capacity reaches 14.5MWh, a figure the company describes as the world’s largest. In an equivalent 20-foot container, BYD Haohan achieves 10MWh, requiring fewer containers and less land, simplifying management architecture, improving station integration and supporting a compact, safe and modern storage station form. BYD Haohan has signed large overseas projects including an 11.275GWh round-the-clock renewable energy project in the UAE and a 2.4GWh storage project in Poland, and deliveries are proceeding in an orderly manner. Brand and product videos at the booth showed the company’s full-stack self-development capability from cells to systems and its full-chain manufacturing strengths.
Global demand for long-duration storage is accelerating. Alongside technology breakthroughs and market expansion, BYD Energy Storage is strengthening its manufacturing foundation. BYD is building a world-class storage center in Shengzhou, Shaoxing, with total investment of about RMB 6 billion, planned land of about 937 mu and an annual output project of 42GWh of new energy batteries and related products. It is BYD Group’s largest storage industry layout in China. The project went into operation on Dec. 30, 2025, once again demonstrating “BYD speed.”
BYD Energy Storage said it will continue to increase R&D investment, promote high-quality industry development with leading technologies and innovative products, and work with global partners on a green zero-carbon blueprint and a sustainable future.
