Gotion High-Tech’s GRID 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system has obtained EU Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542) compliance certification from TÜV SÜD and commenced localized mass production at its Göttingen facility in Germany. This dual milestone—certification coupled with manufacturing—strengthens Gotion’s position in Europe’s energy storage market, accelerating the deployment of its technology for the region’s energy transition.
As a core industrial stationary storage solution developed by Gotion, the product utilizes long-life battery cells supporting 12,000 cycles. Its modular container design reduces footprint requirements by up to 35%, while multi-layer thermal barriers and fire protection ensure operational safety. Integrated with proprietary battery management, the system features intelligent liquid cooling (30% more energy-efficient than air cooling), multi-level fire safeguards, and versatile communication interfaces. These enhancements align with Europe’s stringent safety and environmental standards. Beyond TÜV SÜD approval, the ESS holds CGC GB and CSA UL certifications.
To streamline European supply chains, Gotion established its Göttingen plant in July 2021, initiating battery pack and ESS production in September 2023. The newly certified 5MWh system is manufactured locally at this site. Leveraging technical adaptability and regional sourcing, Gotion has deployed the solution across grid-side, generation-side, and renewable energy projects. Additionally, a strategic R&D partnership with the University of Göttingen aims to advance battery materials, system optimization, and talent development.
