SÃO PAULO, Brazil, August 18, 2025 – Sungrow, a major global provider of photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, has joined forces with solar industry partners MTR Solar, Risen, and VGR Energy to install a dedicated solar power research facility at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), a leading academic institution in Latin America.
As part of the initiative, Sungrow supplied a high-efficiency 20kW PV inverter for the project. The solar installation will function as an open-air laboratory for applied research and technical training, allowing faculty and students to perform hands-on experiments. Their work will focus on assessing environmental, operational, and technical influences on system performance and durability.
Findings from the project are expected to inform future improvements in solar design, materials, and maintenance—ultimately helping develop better-performing and more cost-effective solar solutions suited to Brazil’s climate.
Rafael Ribeiro, Country Manager of Sungrow Brazil, stated, “This project reinforces our dedication to innovation and education in clean energy. Supporting academic research helps strengthen the solar industry and promotes a sustainable future for Brazil.” The company has built a strong local presence and continues to aid the country’s transition to renewable energy.
As Brazil readies to host COP30 in Belém later this year, the project highlights the country’s expanding influence in climate action and the importance of partnerships between universities and private enterprises. Aligned with its mission “Clean power for all,” Sungrow remains focused on developing local expertise through projects that merge research and real-world application. Sungrow recently earned an AAA MSCI ESG Rating, reflecting its high standards in sustainability and corporate responsibility.
Visitors can explore Sungrow’s newest technologies at Intersolar South America, August 26–28, 2025, at booth W4.10 in the White Pavilion.
