Sunwoda Showcases NoahX 3.0 at All Energy Australia 2026

energy storage system

At All Energy Australia 2026, held on Oct. 28 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), Sunwoda presented its NoahX 3.0 liquid-cooled energy storage system. The display focused on Sub-5 MW DC-coupled solar-plus-storage, mining microgrids and large solar-plus-storage projects, highlighting the company’s ability to coordinate capabilities from cell technology to system design and to offer options for Australian storage projects across different scales and applications.

From high-capacity cells to a platform-based system

During a keynote at the show, Sunwoda discussed how co-innovation between cells and systems can improve storage efficiency, safety performance and project economics in Australian applications, combining the technical design of NoahX 3.0 with local market requirements.

As the core of the platform, the 588Ah high-capacity storage cell offers a volumetric energy density of 417Wh/L, a round-trip efficiency of 96.5% at 0.25P and a cycle life of up to 10,000 cycles to 70% SOH. According to the company, high-safety electrolyte, directional venting and a three-dimensional thermal management design further enhance safety and internal temperature consistency, providing a reliable basis for the new-generation storage system.

Based on the 588Ah cell platform, the NoahX 3.0 series uses coordinated design across cells, PACKs, BMS, thermal management and system integration to translate the advantages of high-capacity cells into system performance and project-side value. At the exhibition, Sunwoda highlighted two liquid-cooled systems with capacities of 6.26MWh and 3.13MWh, responding to different project requirements in capacity scale, site space and deployment conditions.

The 6.26MWh liquid-cooled system adopts a 20-foot container design. With higher single-container capacity and integration, it is intended to reduce deployment units and optimize equipment count, project footprint and construction deployment, improving the economics of large-scale storage projects. The 3.13MWh liquid-cooled system uses a compact 10-foot design, balancing transport, site layout and capacity configuration needs to offer more flexible storage options for projects of different sizes.

Addressing three application scenarios with platform-based design

From distributed solar-plus-storage to remote mining areas and large renewable energy stations, Australia’s diverse application scenarios place different requirements on storage safety, efficiency, flexibility and long-term value. Through product configurations with different capacities and dimensions, the NoahX 3.0 liquid-cooled system is designed to provide more suitable storage options for three typical scenarios.

For Sub-5 MW DC-coupled solar-plus-storage, the NoahX 3.0 series can connect to the PV DC side through DC/DC according to project plans, helping improve renewable energy utilization and extend clean energy supply time. The compact design of the 3.13MWh system is suitable for limited sites and different capacity needs, while the 6.26MWh system reduces deployment units through higher single-container capacity, offering more choices between space use and construction cost.

For mining microgrids, where remote sites often face complex power supply conditions, load fluctuations and high fuel transport costs, the NoahX 3.0 series can coordinate with PV and diesel or gas generators to provide regulation support between renewable output and mine power demand, helping reduce generator runtime and fuel consumption. Liquid-cooling temperature control, BMS management and multi-layer safety design provide a reliable basis for continuous operation, with different capacity configurations adapted to mine energy scale and deployment conditions.

For large solar-plus-storage projects, the 6.26MWh system integrates higher capacity into a standard 20-foot container, helping reduce system count and optimize project footprint and equipment deployment, further improving construction and project-side economics. With modular configuration and the compact size of the 3.13MWh system, projects can flexibly select models based on capacity planning and site conditions, balancing layout and expansion needs during scaled deployment.
