Ningbo Contemporary Brunp Lygend (CBL), a subsidiary of CATL subsidiary Brunp, alongside PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) and Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC), has officially broken ground on the Indonesia Battery Integration Project in Karawang, West Java.

This landmark $6 billion initiative spans over 2,000 hectares and covers the entire battery value chain:

1. North Maluku (FHT Industrial Park): Nickel mining & processing, battery materials production, and battery recycling.

2. West Java (Karawang - AIH & KNIC): Battery cell and module manufacturing.

Key Project Highlights:

• First Phase Manufacturing: The Karawang plant will have an initial annual capacity of 6.9 GWh, utilizing CATL's advanced Lighthouse Factory and Extreme Manufacturing expertise.

• Circular System Pioneer: Establishes Indonesia's first renewable energy-powered circular system for battery materials (FHT Park), targeting ultra-low energy consumption and over 95% metal recovery.

• Massive Output: At full capacity, expects to produce 142,000 tons of nickel, 30,000 tons of cathode materials annually, and process 20,000 tons of recycled batteries.

• Job Creation: Projected to create 8,000 direct jobs and 35,000 indirect opportunities.

• Carbon Neutrality: Significantly accelerates Indonesia's 2060 net-zero goals through green, vertically integrated development.

• Southeast Asia's Largest: Recognized by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the region's biggest such initiative, demonstrating national commitment to sustainable energy and global green industry collaboration.

This project marks a major milestone for CATL's global expansion, enhances raw material supply resilience, and advances worldwide battery circularity, setting a new international benchmark for sustainable industrial development.
