At the BNEF Summit in Shanghai, EVE Energy’s Strategic Marketing General Manager Wendy Yip addressed the energy storage sector’s shift from policy-driven expansion to market-oriented development, outlining the company’s technological roadmap and worldwide approach.
The company highlighted its leadership in large-format cell technology, which it views as central to lowering costs across the industry. Its integrated 628Ah “Mr. Big” cell design reportedly cuts system parts and installation effort by half, while reducing lifecycle maintenance expenses by 30%. Already deployed in a 400MWh project in China and exported to markets including Australia and Europe, the product is entering wide-scale use.
Fully automated production at EVE’s Jingmen 60GWh factory is said to further drive down unit costs, with advanced stacking processes aiding safety and consistency. The firm has also rolled out tailored solutions such as a long-cycle system promising zero degradation over five years, alongside modular cabinets and containerized offerings reaching 6.9MWh.
With overseas markets accounting for nearly 60% of storage demand, EVE is pursuing a “global manufacturing, collaboration, and service” strategy. Its Malaysia base is expected to start operations in 2026, followed by a Hungary facility in 2027, supplementing already established certifications and channels in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
Looking ahead, Yip noted that emerging markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America are likely to fuel industry growth by 2026, with cells above 500Ah gaining substantial share. Backed by S&P Global Tier 1 certification, diversified R&D, and an expanding global footprint, EVE aims to adapt swiftly as storage evolves into a market-led phase worldwide.
