
Queensland, Australia – August 12, 2026 – HiTHIUM, a prominent global provider of energy storage technologies, has entered into a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) supply agreement with Global Power Generation (GPG), the international renewable energy arm of the NATURGY Group, for the 421MWh Fraser Coast project located in Queensland, Australia.
Under the terms of the agreement, HiTHIUM will supply 84 liquid-cooled battery storage units, accompanied by a full suite of services that includes system design, manufacturing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) logistics, on-site commissioning, technical support, and operational training. By leveraging its vertically integrated, end-to-end delivery platform, HiTHIUM offers comprehensive system integration for utility-scale storage installations, building on a track record of successful large-scale deployments across multiple global markets. This full-lifecycle service model—covering everything from initial engineering and system integration through to final commissioning and long-term technical assistance—reinforces the company’s reputation as a reliable partner for grid-scale energy storage ventures. The deal also marks the first utility-scale collaboration between HiTHIUM and GPG, setting the stage for deeper cooperation as Australia’s battery storage sector continues to expand in tandem with growing renewable energy capacity.
The Fraser Coast BESS is configured as an AC-coupled storage system, connected to the 33kV switchgear of an adjacent solar farm, which enables the batteries to charge both from the co-located solar plant and the broader electricity grid. Equipped with grid-forming functionality, the system is designed to deliver energy arbitrage and Frequency Control Ancillary Services (FCAS), thereby contributing to network stability, enhancing operational flexibility, and accommodating higher shares of renewable generation on the grid.
