HiTHIUM unveils long-duration energy storage innovations at InnoEX Hong Kong

long-duration energy storage

The 4th Hong Kong International Innovation and Technology Expo (InnoEX) took place from April 13–16 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, drawing global innovators and industry leaders. As the only enterprise invited from Fujian Province in the new energy storage technology sector, HiTHIUM made a notable appearance following a joint invitation by the Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The company showcased a series of cutting-edge achievements, including its ∞Cell 1175Ah long-duration energy storage battery and the ∞Power 6.25MWh long-duration energy storage system. Beyond the exhibition floor, HiTHIUM actively took part in visitor engagement programs, the Fujian-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Promotion and Matchmaking Conference, and an overseas launch ceremony — reinforcing a shared vision of "going global together" through cross-regional innovation cooperation.

Co-organized by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the HKTDC, InnoEX has become one of Asia’s most influential technology and innovation showcases. Under the theme “Innovation·Intelligence·Takeoff”, this year’s expo placed a strong emphasis on AI+ applications, robotics, the low‑altitude economy, and new energy — earning its reputation as a technology barometer for the Asia‑Pacific region.

Throughout the four-day event, the Fujian Science and Technology Innovation Pavilion and HiTHIUM’s booth drew continuous attention from international trade delegations, institutional investors, and professional visitors. The lively atmosphere underscored the growing global interest in advanced energy storage and cross‑border collaboration.

Huang Shu, Deputy Director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology, led a delegation to the HiTHIUM booth. He expressed strong recognition for the company’s technological breakthroughs in the long‑duration energy storage segment, its comprehensive product portfolio, and its global expansion roadmap. Huang encouraged HiTHIUM to continue deepening core technology expertise, accelerate the commercialisation of R&D outcomes, and achieve higher‑quality growth through a more open and collaborative approach.

Several other distinguished figures visited HiTHIUM’s exhibition space for discussions and knowledge exchange, including Gerd Müller, Director‑General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); Zhang Manli, Deputy Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of Hong Kong; Zeng Jia, Second‑Level Researcher at the Comprehensive Coordination Bureau of the Fuzhou New Area Management Committee; as well as representatives from the HKTDC, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and members of the Hong Kong Legislative Council.

On the afternoon of April 14, HiTHIUM was invited to attend the launch ceremony of the HKTDC’s “Global Gateway” initiative. By leveraging Hong Kong’s unique status as an international business and financial hub, the company aims to further deepen its footprint in global markets and tap into new cross‑border opportunities.

As a leading global provider of integrated energy storage solutions, HiTHIUM has been accelerating its internationalisation strategy. The company already maintains a solid presence in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, with overseas orders and production capacity being implemented across multiple locations. Through the “Global Gateway” initiative’s one‑stop professional services and extensive global network connections, HiTHIUM is strengthening the foundation for steady, sustainable worldwide expansion.

Looking forward, the company will leverage Hong Kong as a strategic hub, collaborating with local professional service resources to expand into renewable energy markets across the globe. This approach supports Chinese energy storage brands in going global while empowering the worldwide energy transition.

Full‑stack capabilities: from cells to systems and applications

Focusing on its end‑to‑end capabilities spanning “cells – systems – applications”, HiTHIUM presented a product portfolio covering multiple capacities, diverse technology pathways, and various application scenarios. The display demonstrated the company’s full‑stack strength — from fundamental battery materials to complex system integration.

At the cell level, HiTHIUM has established a multi‑technology roadmap that features the coordinated development of lithium‑ion and sodium‑ion batteries. The lineup includes 314Ah, ∞Cell 587Ah, ∞Cell 1175Ah, and ∞Cell N162Ah sodium‑ion batteries. Among these, the 1175Ah and 587Ah models form a high‑capacity “dual‑engine” system, offering both extended cycle life and low degradation. The sodium‑ion batteries achieve up to 20,000 cycles, a wide operating temperature range, and high safety performance — making them suitable for complex environments and demanding applications.

On the system level, leveraging the in‑house developed ∞Pack+ platform, HiTHIUM launched the ∞Power 6.25MWh energy storage system. The system supports flexible 2‑hour and 4‑hour configurations, delivering comprehensive improvements in capacity, safety, and lifespan. Additionally, the expo featured the Hero EE series of 1kWh and 8kWh residential product solutions, fully demonstrating HiTHIUM’s systematic innovation capabilities and integrated solution advantages across multiple technology pathways and application scenarios.

Long‑duration storage as a key enabler for global energy transition

During the roadshow session at the Fujian-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Promotion and Matchmaking Conference, Zhang Qin, R&D Manager at HiTHIUM, delivered a presentation titled “HiTHIUM: Long‑Duration Energy Storage Unlocks a New Future”. She provided an in‑depth analysis of long‑duration energy storage market trends and systematically shared the company’s technological breakthroughs, mass‑production and delivery capabilities, as well as its international strategic layout in this domain.

Zhang Qin noted that as the share of wind and solar power continues to rise across major global economies — coupled with surging electricity demand from AI computing centres — the industry faces growing challenges: increasing curtailment of wind and solar energy, difficulties in integrating high proportions of renewables, and mounting strain on power grids. In this context, long‑duration energy storage is emerging as the critical solution to these structural issues. As a pioneer in the field of lithium‑ion long‑duration energy storage, HiTHIUM continues to drive innovation and expand its global footprint, committed to providing robust support for the worldwide green energy transition.

Going forward, HiTHIUM will remain firmly focused on advancing long‑duration energy storage technologies. The company intends to vigorously pursue its “internationalisation, integration, and branding” strategy while adhering to a dual‑drive approach of technological innovation and industrial integration. By deepening global collaboration and working hand in hand with all stakeholders within an open innovation ecosystem, HiTHIUM aims to jointly write a new chapter in the high‑quality development of green energy.
