NING Service Expands in Shanghai and Bangkok, Redefining NEV Aftermarket Services

August 10, 2025 – Shanghai/Bangkok – NING Service, the independent aftermarket brand backed by CATL, marked its first anniversary with the grand opening of two major facilities: a flagship experience center in Shanghai and its first directly operated international store in Bangkok, Thailand. The milestone coincides with the 10th anniversary of CATL’s after-sales business and was celebrated under the brand theme “Now Action.”

The openings underscore NING Service’s ambition to reshape the new energy vehicle (NEV) aftermarket by combining cutting-edge battery maintenance technologies, a globally integrated service network, and a comprehensive battery lifecycle management system.

A Decade of Service Innovation

Originally established in 2015 as CATL’s aftermarket division, NING Service officially became an independent brand in 2024. Leveraging CATL’s global leadership in battery technology, the company offers services spanning inspection, maintenance, and recycling. Its network now covers 75 countries, with more than 1,100 service outlets and 67 spare parts warehouses.

“China’s new energy industry is at a turning point, and customer needs in battery testing, electric drive systems, and health assessment are rising sharply,” said Li Wei, President of CATL’s Aftermarket Business Department. “NING Service prioritizes customer needs through innovation, aiming to deliver reliable and efficient solutions to the NEV aftermarket.”

Supported by over 24 industry standards developed or co-authored by CATL, NING Service guarantees rapid response times—repairs for general faults within eight hours and complex cases within 72 hours. Globally, its overseas service network provides a 24-hour response standard, setting benchmarks for reliability and efficiency.

Tackling the “Replace-Only” Dilemma

A key challenge in NEV maintenance is the costly full-pack replacement of damaged batteries. NING Service has addressed this with the introduction of its Cell-to-Pack (CTP) repair service, which uses original CATL components under strict technical and safety protocols. Offering official warranty coverage, the service delivers a safe, reliable, and cost-effective alternative to replacement, breaking the industry’s long-standing “replace-only, no-repair” limitation.

Additionally, the company has developed a non-destructive battery testing device that completes diagnostics in just 15 minutes with over 90% accuracy. The ultrasonic-guided wave technology enables internal battery inspection without disassembly, reducing risks, repair times, and costs. The device is expected to roll out commercially by the end of this year.

Full Lifecycle Battery Management

NING Service also focuses on sustainability by offering solutions across the full battery lifecycle—from usage and health monitoring to recycling and regeneration. Its professional assessment system combines 45 online analyses and 28 offline checks to extend battery life and maintain transparency in the second-hand NEV market.

Partnering with Brunp Recycling, a CATL subsidiary, the company has built a “72-Hour Express Recycling” network with triple the coverage of third-party platforms. Retired batteries are collected, evaluated, and either remanufactured, reused in secondary applications, or recycled for raw materials.

Expanding Horizons

Beyond automotive services, NING Service collaborates with partners in sectors such as electric vessels and low-altitude economy projects, broadening the scope of NEV aftermarket applications.

Currently, flagship NING Service centers operate in seven Chinese cities, including Wuhan and Guangzhou. The new Bangkok facility—spanning 2,000 square meters—marks the brand’s first overseas expansion and serves as a cornerstone for CATL’s global service strategy.
