São Paulo, Brazil, August 29, 2025 – Sungrow, a globally recognized provider of photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, introduced its latest solar and storage innovations at Intersolar South America, held from August 26–28, 2025. The company also announced a significant achievement: 25 GW in cumulative PV inverter orders and 10 GWh in energy storage systems across Latin America, reinforcing its sustained effort to advance the region’s clean energy transition.
Residential and C&I Solutions Support Market Expansion
With Brazil’s distributed generation sector growing rapidly, Sungrow launched products designed for residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) applications.
S2500S-L Microinverter
Building on its earlier 2 kW release, Sungrow unveiled the S2500S-L, a 2.5 kW microinverter equipped with four independent MPPTs and an 18 A operating current. Ideal for fast-installation projects, three units support 12 PV modules for a total 7.5 kW output, reducing clipping losses even with high-power modules. Key attributes include one-click setup via the iSolarCloud app, consistent performance up to 80°C, 10% stronger signal transmission, and 24-hour data retransmission during network interruptions.
MGRL Series Hybrid Inverters
The new MGRL single-phase hybrid inverters (5–10 kW) offer cost efficiency and improved self-consumption for homes and small businesses. Compatible with locally produced low-voltage batteries, they simplify installation and include a backup port for grid outages or off-grid use. With under 4 ms switching time and support for parallel setups of up to eight units, they accommodate a variety of load demands.
SG50CX-P2-LV String Inverter
Designed for Brazil’s common three-phase 220V grids, this string inverter includes eight MPPTs, 30 A DC input, and compatibility with high-power and bifacial modules. It also offers IV curve diagnosis, AFCI protection, and an IP66 rating. Its design aligns with ANEEL’s free electricity billing rules, streamlining project approvals.
Rapid Shutdown System
Complying with the new ABNT NBR 17193:2025 safety standard, Sungrow’s rapid shutdown solution cuts DC voltage to under 35V within 30 seconds during emergencies. The system includes the SR20D-M device and SR200T-BX controller, integrated with Sungrow inverters. Its patented FHC bypass technology maintains temperatures below 120°C, and the hardware is built for durability with C5 anti-corrosion and IP68/IP65 ratings.
Utility-Scale Solar and Storage Advancements
Sungrow’s utility solutions recently passed validation by Brazil’s grid operator (ONS), confirming local compliance.
The company also exhibited its 1+X 2.0 Modular Inverter, an iF Design Award winner with scalable capacity from 800 kW to 9.6 MW. Its split design allows swift replacement of core components, reducing O&M time to roughly one hour per module. With IP66 protection, AI fault detection, and grid-support features, it meets high performance and reliability standards for the Latin American market.
In energy storage, Sungrow highlighted products for both utility and C&I applications:
PowerTitan 2.0: A 5 MWh liquid-cooled ESS with an integrated AC-DC design, already deployed globally including a 1 GWh project in Chile.
PowerStack 255CS: A C&I-focused liquid-cooled system using 314 Ah cells, offering 257 kWh or 514 kWh capacity, >90% efficiency, and 20-year lifespan. Suitable for backup, peak shaving, and microgrid applications, it is certified under international safety standards.
Ada Li, Vice President of Sungrow Americas, stated, “We are proud to deliver comprehensive clean energy innovations across Latin America. Our new milestones reflect Sungrow’s strong partnerships and deep commitment to the region’s sustainable energy future.”
