As dual-carbon goals and logistics cost pressures push new-energy heavy trucks beyond ports and mining sites into interprovincial trunk-line and intercity transport, range, charging efficiency and payload remain key barriers to scale. Gotion High-Tech has introduced a new-generation CTB rear-mounted integrated heavy-truck product, which the company says marks a step from standalone battery packs to a chassis-integrated solution based on native vehicle integration.
Traditional heavy-truck batteries often use a “single-pack” structure with redundant frames, brackets and connectors, taking up space and adding weight to the battery powertrain. CTB (Cell to Bracket) technology removes redundant frame and module levels, embedding cells in the vehicle via a highly integrated bracket carrier. This reduces weight and frees space at vehicle level. Compared with single-pack designs, Gotion’s new product lowers the battery system height to 943 mm, a 40% reduction, giving a lower center of gravity and better driving stability. The pack is smaller, with volumetric energy density up to 250 Wh/L and higher integration. Vehicle weight is cut by about 400 kg, while energy density exceeds 160 Wh/kg; the saved weight can be converted directly into useful payload.
Diverging operating scenarios are driving differentiated battery needs. For short shuttle transport, 400 kWh can support a vehicle’s single-day turnaround. For interprovincial trunk-line logistics, 600 kWh or more is needed for long-distance continuous operation. Gotion’s new CTB rear-integrated product offers strong flexibility, covering 400 kWh to 700 kWh so users can choose a capacity version matching actual operations.
On safety and maintenance, the product adopts a water-electricity separation design with externally mounted cooling water pipes. This avoids potential threats to cells from coolant leakage and makes later repair and maintenance simpler. For low-temperature operation, it offers a “liquid cooling and liquid heating + optional PTC” solution. In addition to coolant circulation temperature control, users can choose a PTC ceramic heater to quickly warm the battery in severe cold, keeping it at a suitable operating temperature and maintaining charge-discharge efficiency. The product has also completed a 6,000 km vehicle durability road test, which the company says fully verifies reliability and stability.
As the new-energy heavy-truck market expands, battery installations continue to rise. According to industry statistics for January–August 2026, Gotion High-Tech ranked among the top five in heavy-truck market installations, up 51.5% year on year from 2025, remaining in the first tier of heavy-truck battery installers. With penetration rising, competition in battery systems has moved beyond mere “capacity size” to a comprehensive contest over lightweighting, charging efficiency, environmental adaptability and full-lifecycle reliability. Moving from “single-pack stacking” to “system-level native integration,” Gotion’s new-generation CTB rear-integrated heavy-truck product is reshaping the value of power batteries from a vehicle perspective and offering a more practical technical path for new-energy heavy trucks to break through range and payload bottlenecks in trunk-line logistics.
